I think Black Canary sorta deserves better. Lots of people like her, and a lot of writers have worked to develop her character, but no ones taken the step of building her into a heroine that can stand on her own. She always someone’s teammate or girlfriend.
I mean, she’s been around since the forties, and these are all her solo comics. Two miniseries, a short lived ongoing, and a one-shot about her wedding. It would be cool to have more A-list superheroines that aren’t based off male characters.
I agree with all of this and also lol are those nipples on that wedding special? Classy.
Anyway, she’s got a relatively straight-forward backstory (or at least, it can be), and a power that’s simple and understandable coupled with some of the best fighting skills in the world. She’s a very versatile character, too.
