Charlaine Harris, creators of the Sookie Stackhouse series (which, yes, became the tv show True Blood) is planning a new graphic novel series called “Cemetery Girl”. Click through for more info!

The excelllent Saranga has written up a review of a book dedicated to telling the story of Echo, a deaf, Native American lady hero. I pretty much need this book in my life right now.

New readers… start here! is a comics blog aimed (unsurprisingly!) at readers who are new to comics or interested in getting started. Saranga has just put together a glossary of comics terms, (with a little help from a few familiar names), so if you’ve got any friends or followers who are getting started and are feeling a little out-jargoned, maybe point them that way. The blog also publishes comics reviews which should be of interest to any comics readers, not just the newbies - the latest one is of All Star Superman.

Also, if you have any lady friends who don’t currently read comics, please encourage them to fill out this comics non-readers survey! There’s a survey for lady comics readers, too, although the former has had a lower response rate so far - hence the push!

A new blog dedicated to comics reviews and meta, that you should check out because I am contributing to it! The other contributors are all awesome people, and include the wonderful Alexa of Ladies Making Comics fame. The first review is now up!
